JOULE METER
JOULE METER:
The joule is equal to the energy transferred to (or work done on) an object when a force of one newton acts on that object in the direction of its motion through a distance of one meter(1 newton meter or N⋅m). It is also the energy dissipated as heat when an electric current of one ampere passes through a resistance of one ohm for one second.
Specifications:
- A modified single phase, 2 wire watt-hour meter adapted for low voltage working and directly calibrated in Joules (J).
- Mounted on a wooden bench stand with non-skid base, which also has 2 pairs of 4 mm socket terminals, clearly marked for supply and load.
- The aluminium disc rotates once every 100 J consumed, total consumption indicated on rotating digits display with 1st, 2nd and 3rd readings from the left representing 100, 1000 and 10000 J respectively to a total of 99,900 J.
- The inter-digit spacing in the left most reading is further subdivided in 10 divisions to approximate the reading to 10 J.
- Designed for use on 12 V, 50 Hz AC supply with a maximum current of 8.33 A.
- Meter enclosed in transparent casing to facilitate the observation of actual movement of the meter.
