Ingen Hauze Apparatus
Ingen Hauze Apparatus Specifications:
- An apparatus for comparing the thermal conductivity of different conductors; specimens consisting of long waxcoated rods of equal length are placed with one end in a tank of boiling water covered with a radiation shield, and the lengths along the rods from which the wax melts are compared.
- Consists of a metal tank 150 x 90 x 100 mm has five apertures on one side through which 100 x 3 mm metal rods of copper, brass, aluminium, iron & glass pass.
- The outer end of each rod has a cavity.
- When low melting point paraffin wax is placed in the cavity, the different metals melt the paraffin at different rates.
