ELECTROSCOPE
ELECTROSCOPE:
This is an early scientific instrument that is used to detect the presence and magnitude of electric charge on a body. It was the first electrical measuring instrument. The pith-ball electroscopes and the gold-leaf electroscopes are two classical types of electroscopes that are still used in physics education to demonstrate the principles of electrostatics. These type of electroscopes are also used in the quartz fiber radiation dosimeter.
Specifications:
- Electroscopes, Pith Ball, on Bakelite Base a simple device for detecting the presence of electrostatic charges.
- A plated brass pillar mounted on base supporting two pith balls in un-spun silk.
